from münchen

hallo all! here is an update from deutschland, münchen, jedermann hotel. linux, mozilla and the keyboard here are all extremely foreign to me, which explains the perhaps rather impersonal way i am typing. the keys are all in weird different places i am used to... for example, i cannot find the apostrophe and the "at" sign key. okay, i think i just found the apostrophe key. now i'm sure i've found it. haha. the time here is 5.55pm currently... it's minus six hours of singapore time, so it should be about 11.51pm back at home. it's colder than we expected here, especially when it's supposed to be summer, but it's still acceptable lah. miss you guys back in singapore, and i keep finding myself wishing that one or the other or the whole lot of you all were here with me too, 'cos nobody to play with me and do crazy things with me... wish my sis were here. by the way, there's only one computer with internet that is free and usable in this hotel, and it's downstairs at the reception area, and sometimes people will queue up to use it, so i have limited time here. sorry i won't be commenting and replying comments for a while or even blog-surfing out of livejournal 'cos those are way too time-consuming.

today, we went to visit the concentration camp at dachau. the place reminded me a whole lot like the scenes in schindler's list (which we didn't manage to finish watching the other time, hehe, "you go straight to prison..."). you know, the place where the prisoners had to ji2 he2 in the morning and do their medical check-ups and row calls and stuff like that? and i also saw the gas chamber and a whole lot else. it's hardly imaginable to me that such horrors really took place; it seems surreal. and there were stuff all over which said "nie wieder", which means "never again" in german. and i really wonder, will the human will really make this horror never to happen again? when people enter conflicts, places like dachau and ausschwitz etc. probably fly outta their minds at the very first moment. alright, this is not all, but i guess i shall hafta stop here 'cos i suspect somebody's waiting behind me and smoking MY lungs out and making weird coughing noises to tell me he's there.

tomorrow, we shall be taking a train from munich to salzburg in austria. we'll prolly be staying in this hotel another one or two more days before we go somewhere else. and after that, internet connection will no longer be guaranteed. i just wanted to say that german guys are really very cute. and gerald, you wanted more, so much of this entry is for you, haha. as for senny and yn, sorry i got no time to reply your smses at the moment 'cos a cute david beckham (from the back) lookalike is waiting to use it. take care. :)
