i love how his eyes are fixed on her throughout the song. of course, that's prolly the only way you can do a 和音 (合音?) well, but still... very nice. but the fact that they've since gone their separate ways after so many years together (and the fact that so many others around me have too), fills me with doubt and uncertainty about many things.

i just found out, through the youtube comments, that the song in the mv was sung after they'd already split, but that to this day, they'd always dedicate the song to each other every time they sang it. in the context of (i) this song actually "belonging" more to andy hui than it does sammi, (ii) him doing such a good job just being her back-up singer (relinquishing the 主角 role in the song) 'tho it really was his song before it was hers, (iii) her career always having been much more high-flying than his ever was, blah blah blah... i find this very... umm, touching. touching also that even having split, much of the lyrics could still very much apply to the other party.
of course, the more clear-minded and cynical part of me says, all this that i feel about the mv, that makes me like it so much, could very well be a product of the manipulation by the videography(??)... cutting and pasting scenes of the two people singing the song and putting them side by side so that it seems that it's just the two of them in their own world, and that they only have eyes for each other (or that andy only has eyes for sammi, that is).
but i think i still prefer to think of it from the more positive (and, unfortunately, also the more romantic) angle. it makes me happier this way. something i've denied all my life (and will continue doing so) but secretly suspect might be true - that i could actually be a hopeless romantic. help.
