no longer a breeze
in the first 15 to 20 minutes right after every interval training, i always wonder why i have to put myself through all that torture. and my answer is this: there's no faster way that i know how!! but oh, the hell right after seriously sucks. gah.

but i do know it'll soon get much better if i really keep this up. sigh. speed - use it, or lose it. how true. i should have believed that at age 18, or even at age 23. what has happened to me??!?!? feel clumsy like anything. zzzzzz...

tomorrow (or the next time), after the initial six rounds, i'm gonna half the sprint length but go at 100 per cent, then walk instead of jog, then up the set by one round. hopefully this eases it and doesn't fmlly worsen it instead, knowing me.

due to lack of time (because my hp went flat and i didn't wanna be out so late unconnected) and presence of some noisies in the park, i did only two sets of jog,-jog,-then-sprint-like-mad today (six rounds in all). i totally skipped the first six rounds of warm up and didn't do the walking in between sprints either. but i think it felt pretty good.

i know i'm not pushing myself at all - this is way below my capacity. but it's comfortable, so maybe i shall try to maintain this for the week, maybe add an extra set if i feel like it. when i was younger, rich taught me to do this to put a distance between myself and any close "competitors". but now i'm employing it for a totally different purpose.

today, a most endearing kitty jumped into my lap as i was doing my warm-up stretches. i almost gave up running just so s/he could take a nap in my lap, but s/he was quickly distracted by the presence of another kitty some distance away, so i gave him/her a little nudge and s/he very cooperatively went to check out the other cat.

i did about eight rounds tonight, about two-and-a-half intervals - felt very relac tonight, but had to hurry home quickly cos it was about 4am and people were starting to wake. i snap-snap finished the rounds, a set each of 20 push ups, sit ups, ifahs and the crazy hang-on-bar-and-do-90deg-leg-lifts all within half an hour. wonderful.

now, if i could only keep all this up for a few more weeks. BUT. all this may be building muscle, but i'm not sure it's getting rid of any of my belly fat! argh!! need to go back to pilates and yoga too for some work on the core, maybe.
